Article: Getting it Wright

Hudson Valley

Getting it Wright

Every fall we like to get our favorite apple cider donuts and pies from Wright’s Farm over in Gardiner, New York. We do a day of apple picking (and sampling), scoping out turtles and frogs in a creek, followed by some play on the equipment time.

Apple picking is tailgating in Upstate New York so go with a group. Families bring tents, grills, chairs, games, and pets to hang out in the expansive parking lots as kids run around picking as many apples as they can fit into a tote bag.

Apple picking season always starts earlier than I think - mid-August! Plan ahead for the particular variety that you like, and when it ripens.
